Gaza City on Wednesday morning: Israeli rockets are constantly raining down on the Hamas stronghold. Israel's Defense Minister Yoav Gallant commented on the current fighting as follows.

Yoav Gallant, Israel's Minister of Defense: "The Israeli army is in the heart of Gaza City. It came from the north and south, attacked with ground troops, from the air and from the sea."

As long as Hamas does not release the approximately 240 hostages abducted from Israel in early October, there will be no pause in the fighting for humanitarian aid, Gallant continued. The foreign ministers of the G7 countries and the United Nations had previously called for such a ceasefire. The fighting is also approaching the completely overburdened hospitals in Gaza City, and the care of the injured is in danger, the Palestinian side said

Ahmed El Mokhallalati, doctor: "The situation is becoming more and more tense. We have had the feeling for a month that they are approaching Shifa Hospital. For nights they bombed the neighborhoods near the hospital. Three days ago, the Al-Shata'a refugee camp was bombarded with at least 20 hits per minute, for at least an hour. We have the feeling that things are getting serious for us now.

The Israel Defense Forces released the footage, which is said to show the destruction of Hamas hideouts – right next to a hospital, according to the army.

On the other side of the border, in Jerusalem, relatives commemorated the victims on Wednesday – exactly one month after Hamas' terrorist attack. Some called for the resignation of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Hannah Katsman, relatives of the victims: "My son Hayim was murdered by Hamas terrorists on October 7 in his kibbutz in Holit, I am here now. Before October 7th, I was at anti-government demonstrations. And I still feel that the government doesn't represent my interests. I am very concerned about many of their actions."

Meanwhile, according to the World Health Organization, the shelling of the Gaza Strip claims the lives of about 160 children every day. Meanwhile, more than 70 percent of the area's 2.3 million inhabitants have fled to the south. According to the UN, tens of thousands of Palestinians are still holding out in the north.
